Community Connections
At Pura Vida Counseling and Wellness, we value community involvement. Working together and investing in the community benefits everyone. Our dedicated professionals help foster strong communities through mentorship, collaboration, and engagement. We create a safe, inclusive environment for support, resources, and thriving lives. We offer various services as a community resource, focusing on high-quality counseling, self-care, and wellness. To achieve this, we partner with local businesses like Strong Roots. Our first collaboration is Brooke, a holistic health practitioner, offers in-depth health analysis through hair testing at our office.
Brooke, owner of Strong Roots, is a holistic health practitioner. Her journey began with a personal medical issue, driving her to explore holistic approaches. Using epigenetic hair scans, she guides clients in optimizing nutrition based on a "snapshot of your body's last 90 days". The scan covers vitamins, toxins, digestion, and more. Brooke offers various packages, including hair scans for athletes, pets, vegans, and children. Partnered with us, she operates from our Fredericksburg office. Reach her at 804-615-0544 or via her booking page at 10712 Ballantraye Drive, Ste. 310, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
Collaborating with Local Artist
Pura Vida Counseling and Wellness takes pride in our support for local artists. We've collaborated with Canal Quarter Arts and Darbytown Art Studio to showcase pieces created by talented local artists. Select artworks are available for purchase directly from the artists themselves.

Therisa's cherished home is her grandparents' cabin by the Chena River in Alaska, where she learned valuable life lessons from her indigenous grandmother, including respect for nature and creating beauty in adversity. With a BA in Art and Theatre, she spent three decades in performance arts. Now a mother and grandmother, she's embraced painting through workshops and online courses. While diverse in her art, Therisa finds joy in intuitive landscape work. She values sustainability and upcycling, often using thrift store finds for her carefully curated pieces. Her studio is at Canal Quarter Arts, and she welcomes commission inquiries.
